Melinda: The First Lady of Magic? She has done what no other woman had done before. Playing the showrooms of Vegas continuously for the post nine years – a record not Siegfried & Roy or David Copperfield can lay claim to.
1995 has been quite a year for Melinda. Earlier this year. she was Inducted into the Magic and Movie Hall of Fame and named “Outstanding Magician of the Year? Now, this Fall the First Lady of Magic will go where no woman has gone before – on rams of television sets in Europe. Japan and Latin America with her own special.
This television exposure will bring Melinda a whole new legion of fans around the world fans that will get to see her special blend of stage magic live when her upcoming U.S. and World Tour hits stages around the globe. Says Melinda. “Bringing the art of my magic to so many different cultures shows the truly universal nature of magic and Its ability to entertain and lift the human spirit.
Of course, in keeping with her past shows which have at ways brought dazzled audiences with the unexpected, Melinda this year will take fans on a journey that will include the spectacles at “The Fireflies” – an emotional return to childhood as Melinda magically recreates nights spent with her grandmother; ‘Jungle Heat – set against the throbbing rhythms of rain forest drums. Melinda performs breathtaking Illusions with a dramatic conclusion that unfolds like a cliffhanger novel and the unforgettable ‘Bearable Lightness of Childhood” – touching piece that sees Melinda floating high above the stage with a hand-picked child from the audience.
These are Just a few of the new spectacles that Melinda has in store for audiences around the world. Of cane, dazzling her tons Is nothing new for “The first Lady? The twenty-something Illusionist has been doing magic since her childhood days, never giving up the dream that a lady magician could someday make it to the top.
Melinda’s show is currently playing to sold out audiences at the Lady Luck Casino Hotel downtown. General Manager, Jim Dickstein states. ‘The production has become world class, evolving over the last three years to Its current state-of-the art blend of emotionally moving theatre.- He adds. “That’s why even with eleven shows weekly,Tuesday through Sunday, audiences still can’t get enough of the ‘First Lady.'”
Shows are at 8 & 10:30 p.m. nightly with only an 8 p.m. show on Sundays. The early show Is for families and the late show Is topless. The showroom Is dark Mondays. Tickets are $24.95 plus tax and include two drinks. V.I.P. tickets are $29.95 and include two drinks, on autographed poster and guests get to meet Melindo after the show.
